BYPASS DAMPERS
*Bypass dampers and bypass ducts are not needed in a zone control system that uses our patented CZRD Zone Dampers.

The bypass damper has been the most commonly used solution to controlling built up static pressure in a zone control system. A bypass damper is typically installed in a section of bypass duct that goes from the supply to the return duct. Traditional barometric bypass (BB) dampers use a weighted arm and barometric pressure to open and close the damper. Electric bypass (EB) damper uses a static pressure sensor (SPS) that measures static pressure within the duct and modulates the damper open and closed to maintain a set amount of static pressure.

Barometric Bypass Round Damper (BBRD)
  • Uses an easily adjustable weighted arm
  • Replacement arms are available
  • Only used for a horizontal mounting orientation
  • Primarily used for residential applications with static pressure up to 0.75” WC
  • Available sizes are 7”, 8”, 9”, 10”, 12”, 14”, 16”
Barometric Bypass Vertical Round Damper (BBVRD)
  • Uses an easily adjustable weighted arm
  • Replacement arms are available
  • Only used for a vertical mounting orientation
  • Primarily used for residential applications with static pressure up to 0.75” WC
  • Available sizes are 10” and 12” only
Electric Bypass Round Damper (EBRD)
  • Controlled by a floating point 24 VAC 2 VA 3-wire power open, power close actuator and a Static Pressure Sensor (SPS) factory set at 0.45” WC
  • Constructed of durable galvanized smooth steel
  • Primarily used for light commercial applications with units 7.5 tons and larger and static pressure from 0.08” to 1.25” WC
